Dear Town Meeting Members, 

School’s out, the weather has been hot, and many of you are likely thinking about summer plans. But I’m also asking for your help. 

Please consider representing your precinct on the new Moderator’s Advisory Committee (MAC). The MAC will advise me on Town Meeting rules and help with interviews for appointments to important committees, including: 

• Warrant Committee
• Comprehensive Capital Budget Committee
• Bylaw Review Committee
• Permanent Building Advisory Committee

We expect several openings—especially on the Warrant Committee, which advises Town Meeting on the budget and financial issues. Interviews will likely begin in August.

Once I have the responses, I’ll share them with your precinct’s Town Meeting Members and help organize a meeting via Zoom so you can choose your representative. That’s it—simple and easy. 

I prefer MAC members not already serve on another Moderator-appointed committee in order to spread the opportunities for involvement in town government to others. Ideally, members should have at least two to three years of Town Meeting experience.
