Responsibilities

• Review work done within the local Historic Districts 
  • Application for Certificate of Appropriateness
  • District Design Guidelines
• Identify and evaluate historic properties
  • Through a Historic Survey noting Historic Areas/Neighborhoods, Significant Buildings and Architectural Styles in Belmont
• Support preservation 
  • Through education, local Historic District designation, nomination to the National Register of Historic Places, the Demolition Delay Ordinance, and Preservation Agreements/Restrictions
• Preserve and share the Town's History
