Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) is charged with advising and aiding a major update to the Town's Comprehensive Plan to be submitted to the Planning Board for approval. The CPAC Committee is a temporary committee working under the primary direction of the Town Planner (or designee).

Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission administers the performance standards of the Wetlands Protection Act (MGL c.131, section 40), the Rivers Protection Act (St. 1996, c. 258), preserves the interests of the Rock Meadow Conservation Land and Victory Gardens, and advises other town boards and officials on conservation and environmental issues.

The Council on Aging is charged with advocating on behalf of older adults in Belmont.

Cultural Council

The Cultural Council is part of a network of local and regional cultural councils which receive funding through a central state agency, the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Funds are re-granted to individuals and organizations to promote excellence, access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences in Belmont.

Disability Access Commission

The Disability Access Commission is dedicated to protecting the rights of all Belmont citizens, of all ages and with the full range of all abilities and disabilities (including hidden disabilities).

Economic Development Advisory Committee

The role of the Belmont Economic Development Committee (BEDC) is to develop, implement, and update the recommendations in the Belmont Business Strategy, in conjunction with Town staff and departments.

Education Scholarship Committee

The Education Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to outstanding students who reside in Belmont and are members of any high school, vocational school, private or parochial school.

Energy Committee
