Flag Retirement Ceremony

Belmont Veterans Memorial at Clay Pit Pond
The Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony at Clay Pit Pond to honorably retire and replace approximately 2,500 old and worn U.S. flags from the Grove Street Cemetery and others from the Belmont community, collected by the Belmont Hill Veterans Club.
This event serves as a tribute to our national symbol and those who served to protect it. Keep an eye out for a special guest singer appearance during the ceremony!
National Vietnam War Veterans Day

Join as we honor the service and sacrifice of our Vietnam War Veterans.
A reception (collation) will follow in the Post Lounge at the conclusion of the event. All community members are invited to attend and show their support.

The Belmont Highschool Athletics Department, Belmont Hill School Veterans Club, and Belmont Scouts will be helping to place new flags at the Grove Street Cemetery to honor our fallen heroes.

Memorial Day Observation Ceremony & Parade

Grove Street Cemetery & Clay Pit Pond
There will be a Memorial Day Observation Ceremony beginning at 10:30 AM at the Belmont Grove Street Cemetery.
The Observation Ceremony will be followed by a Memorial Day Parade that will extend to the Belmont Veterans Memorial at Clay Pit Pond.
Both the Ceremony and Parade are to honor all Veterans for their service to our country.
National Purple Heart Day Ceremony

Belmont Veterans Memorial at Clay Pit Pond
Join us for Belmont's Purple Heart Day Ceremony as we honor the courage and sacrifice of our nation's Purple Heart recipients.
The ceremony will begin with opening remarks by Belmont Veterans' Service Officer, Bob Upton, the National Anthem. Public officials, including members of the Select Board, Town Administrator, and the State Delegation, will be recognized. Remarks will also be given by (Ret.) USMC Colonel Michael J. Callanan of Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee.
