Reporting a Building or Zoning Violation

Please send an email to codeenforcement@belmont-ma.gov or call the violation reporting line at 617-993-2657 and leave a detailed message regarding the violation, the location, and your name and contact information.

Reporting Leaf Blower Concerns

Reports leaf blowers (gas-powered or noise complaint) can be made to the Health Department using the Leaf Blower Complaint Form

Reporting Snow Removal Concerns

  • Per Belmont’s General Bylaws,  residents have until 8:00 pm the day following the end of the storm to clear the sidewalk of snow, slush and ice adjacent to their property to ensure safe pedestrian passage. 
  • Owners and tenants of commercial property are hereby required to remove snow and ice from the abutting public sidewalk to the extent practicable down to the sidewalk’s natural surface and otherwise level and evenly cover with appropriate material to prevent slipping. Such removal and treatment shall be accomplished within twelve (12) hours after the snow and ice has fallen or formed on the sidewalks, and removal shall consist of at least one-half of the width of the sidewalks nearest the curb or other lateral limit of the roadway.
